The Legend of Maula Jatt is the highest-grossing Punjabi movie in the UK

The Legend of Maula Jatt premiered in theatres for two weeks, starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Hamima Malik among others, but it continues to outperform Indian movies at the American and British box offices.

Producer Ammara Hikmat is thrilled about the movie's success and says it was a "rewarding" experience to work on.

The Legend of Maula Jatt, directed by Bilal Lashari, has become the most successful Punjabi movie ever in the UK.

According to a post published on the handle's official Instagram account on Wednesday, the movie has also made more than $5 million worldwide. The aforementioned amount is equivalent to a staggering amount of more than Rs 1,100 million. Earlier, the Fawad-Mahira Khan starrer created history by being the first movie to cross the coveted $100 million mark.

The potboiler's producer, Ammara Hikmat, told The Friday Times-Naya Daur that working on it had been a gratifying experience. "Directing a movie of this calibre is difficult in Pakistan. But in the end, everything was worthwhile, she claimed.

At the international box office, the movie keeps roaring. According to Bollywood Hungama, the October 13 release The Legend of Maula Jatt has outperformed the Diwali Bollywood films Ram Setu and Thank God in both the UK and the US.

As of October 27, The Legend of Maula Jatt had taken in $56,586 in North America and $46,825 in the UK.

At the North American box office, the film directed by Bilal Lashari replicated a similar achievement by earning more than $56,000. Ram Setu, in contrast, brought in US$48,330, while Thank You brought in US$40,358.

The Legend of Maula Jatt premiered on October 13 to ecstatic reviews. The cast is led by Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malik. Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, and Mahira Khan are also featured.
