As tensions with Russia over its military action continue to rise, President Joe Biden has issued a warning that US citizens should leave Ukraine immediately.

"Citizens of the United States should depart... On Thursday night, Biden told NBC News' Lester Holt, "Leave immediately." "We're up against one of the world's largest armies." This is a very different environment, and things might swiftly spiral out of control."

As tensions with Russia over its military action continue to rise, U.S. President Joe Biden has issued a warning that US citizens should leave Ukraine immediately.

On Friday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken advised Americans to evacuate Ukraine, saying that "an invasion might start at any minute."

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued a warning on Thursday, saying, "Things are as dangerous as they have ever been in Europe."

On Thursday, Russia and its neighbour Belarus launched a 10-day military drill. 30,000 Russian troops were believed to be there by NATO, making it Moscow's largest military deployment in Belarus since the Cold War.

According to NBC News, Russia has relocated roughly 130,000 soldiers, tanks, missiles, and even fresh blood supplies to its border with Ukraine for the manoeuvres, which are largely perceived as a show of might.

Russia has stated that Ukraine will never be allowed to join the NATO military alliance and that the organization's role in Eastern Europe should be reduced.

Despite the rising tensions, Biden ruled out sending US soldiers into Ukraine on Thursday, saying he couldn't see it occurring.

Ukraine also accused Russia of erecting a naval blockade on Thursday, according to the BBC. As Russian forces prepared for naval manoeuvres next week, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba allegedly said that the Sea of Azov was entirely clogged, while the Black Sea was being blocked by Russian forces.
