Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Color is another triumph for actor Yasir Hussain and actress Ayesha Omar.
The film Javed Iqbal has been selected for showing at the
berlin Film Festival, following its premiere at the UK South Asian Film
Festival.
According to a statement on Pakistani cinema's Instagram
page, the film Javed Iqbal has been selected for showing at the Berlin Film
Festival after winning Best Actor and Best Director honours at the UK South
Asian Film Festival.
“After
winning Best Actor and Best Director award at UK Asian Film Festival Javed
Iqbal is now headed to Berlin Art Film Festival which seeks to recognize and promote
the best international arthouse film and script projects of all genres.”
The film's director, Abu Aliha, also published this on his
Twitter account. Lahore, the provincial capital, became a symbol of horror.
Javed Iqbal murdered over 100 children by kidnapping,
rapping, and putting their corpses in acid. The perpetrator confessed to his
horrible deeds in a letter to the newspaper Jang, following which he was
apprehended by the authorities.
Javed Iqbal was condemned to death ten times, but at Kot
Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, he committed himself. It should be mentioned that the
Pakistani government has prohibited the showing of Javed Iqbal's film.
